Hoseok appreciates the warmth of Jungkook's arm around him, and the contact too, the closeness. He's spent so much of his life feeling isolated and unwanted, and these boys, Jungkook in particular, are his family. He is never happier than when he's with all of them together, when he feels like a brother, like a part of something bigger than himself.
He laughs fondly when Jungkook compares him to the starfish, and he thinks about how he could use something like those searching, sinuous movements in his dancing, an homage to the little creature who has become a part of their afternoon. His instinct is to shy away when Jungkook suggests he hold the starfish, afraid of how it might feel in his palm, that he could hurt it, but he feels like he should try.
"Since we're so much alike," Hoseok says, lifting a hand palm up so Jungkook can pass the starfish over. "I'd love to hold it."
